The short bassoon interludes were originally something I put together for an instrumental collaboration with fellow Les Denis (more about them here) bandmate Giles:

Giles rejected all my bassoon efforts on the final version of the tune (the heartless swine!) so I decided I'd put them to good use by crow-barring them in to this song, as I thought they were excellent.
