Why I chose the song:

Although I'm not a massive fan of Rufus' work or piano ballads in general, I think the song's great and decided to play it live a while back at a fundraiser for local band Chop Chop

I picked the tune specially for my long suffering companion Kate - she'd been lamenting the fact that I never play anything even remotely romantic so I thought it would make a nice surprise for her at the gig as it's one she likes

(and I also thought it might be an interesting experiment to sing a love song from the point of view of a woman)

In the end Kate didn't come to see me play that night so she missed the magic moment.  I can't remember the details, but I think there was something she wanted to watch on the telly.
